Bear Den Retreat - March 8 and 9
Bear Den Retreat 2024 is coming Friday March 8 & Saturday March 9! Permission slips are now available outside of Room 104, and available online.
ANY THS student can attend this amazing weekend retreat full of new friendships, motivational speakers, social time, ropes course, personal growth, food, and more!
Don’t miss out on this unique THS Tradition! Cost for the whole weekend is $65 before Feb 23, $75 after 2/23.
Last day to submit payment & permission slips is Tuesday March 5.

High School and Beyond Night - March 13
THS will be hosting its annual High School and Beyond Night on Wednesday, March 13, from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. at Tahoma High School. There will be a pre-session hosted by admissions counselors from University of Washington at 5:30, a college and career fair from 6:00 - 7:00, and more seminars from 7:00 - 8:00 pm.
Families who would like to learn more about requesting courses for next year should attend High School & Beyond Night on March 13. THS counselors will review course registration resources and information including graduation requirements and planning, post high school pathways, required high school courses, navigation and explanation of web resources and, as time allows, Q&A. Future Freshman Night - March 20
Future Freshman Night is March 20 at THS. The two sessions are divided by middle schools.
-Maple View Middle School 8th grade students + parents from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
-Summit Trail Middle School 8th grade students + parents from 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM
MVMS schedule:
Opening: 6:00 - 6:15 in the THS main gym
Curricular Fair: 6:15 - 7:00 in the lunchroom and Learning Commons
School Tours: 6:15 - 7:00 in small groups every 10 minutes
STMS schedule:
Opening: 7:30 - 7:45 in the THS main gym

Smarter Balanced Testing (SBA) - April
SBA Testing for Sophomores will take place April 17, 18, 23, 24 and will cover Math and ELA. This is the quickest way to meet the Washington State Graduation Pathway requirement.
Juniors will take the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) on April 18th in addition, any 11th or 12th grade student who has not passed the SBA previously will also test again this on these dates.
All THS students will be on an alternative
schedule with testing taking place between 7:35 - 10:05am, students not testing
will have an alternative learning experience such as guest speakers. Any

Students should already have joined AP Classroom in order to register for their exams. If they’re not in AP Classroom yet, they need to see their teacher or Ms. Strasser.
The payment window is October 9th – November 3rd. Students can pay online or in person with Ms. Wood. If they miss the payment window, there might be an additional $40 fee.
Most exams are $98, while Seminar and Research exams are $146.
