The Golden Acorn Award is presented to a volunteer in recognition of his/her dedication and service to all children in the school community.

It is to recognize volunteer service “above and beyond” a particular job description. A contribution in the name of the recipient is made by the honoring PTA to the Washington State PTA Scholarship Program.

The Outstanding Educator Award was created by PTAs to recognize individuals who have provided outstanding educational opportunities for children and youth, beyond the normal scope of their jobs.

An educator can be, but is not limited to, a teacher, including specialists, support staff, administrators, or community member.
